Ajwain Raw Honey

Ajwain Raw Honey — also called carom honey, ajma honey or ajwain shahad — is a single-origin raw honey carrying the warm, gently savoury character of ajwain (carom, Trachyspermum ammi). Riddhish Herbals Ajwain Raw Honey is 100% natural honey with no added sugar, raw, unfiltered and unpasteurised, in a 500g glass jar. It comes from our own beekeeping across the Jamnagar–Devbhumi Dwarka belt of Saurashtra, Gujarat.

From Our Ajwain Belt

The Jamnagar–Devbhumi Dwarka belt of Saurashtra is a dry-climate seed-spice region long recognised among Gujarat’s leading ajwain-growing areas. Where ajwain blooms, our bees forage its blossoms alongside the surrounding flora, giving this raw honey its distinctive warm, herbal note. We keep the bees ourselves — so this honey is traceable to its source hives rather than bought through middlemen. That first-hand sourcing is what lets us stand behind every jar.

Quality & Testing

This honey has been lab-tested at an approved laboratory and found to conform to Food Safety Act parameters — including a negative Fiehe’s test, an indicator that no added commercial sugar syrup was detected and the honey has not been overheated. We believe genuine honey should be able to show its work.

Traditional Ayurvedic Importance

In Ayurveda, honey is known as Madhu and is described in classical texts such as the Charaka Samhita and Bhavaprakasha Nighantu as a valued daily food, prized for its yogavahi quality — carrying the properties of whatever is blended with it — which makes it the classical anupana (carrier) for many herbal preparations. Ajwain (Yavani) has likewise been valued for generations in Indian kitchens and classical literature for supporting comfortable digestion as part of everyday food. These references describe traditional dietary and culinary use only.

How to Use

Take 1–2 teaspoons daily, on its own or stirred into warm (not boiling) water, herbal tea or milk. It also works as a natural sweetener over toast or yoghurt and alongside Ayurvedic churnas. Avoid adding to very hot or boiling liquids. Do not give honey to infants under 1 year of age.

About Crystallisation

Natural honey tends to crystallise over time — this is normal and a marker of genuine raw honey. To return it to a liquid state, stand the closed jar in warm water and stir gently. Do not microwave or refrigerate.

Safety Information

Not suitable for infants under 1 year. People managing their blood-sugar intake should consult their healthcare provider before adding honey to the diet. Those with pollen or bee-product allergies should exercise caution. For dietary use as a food only. Results may vary from person to person.
