About Riddhish Herbals Gulabjal Rose Water

Rose water — Gulabjal, also called Gulab Arq in the classical distillate tradition — is the aqueous floral water collected when fresh rose petals are carried through steam distillation. This is not rose fragrance stirred into water. It is a genuine hydrosol: the water-soluble fraction of the flower itself, enriched here with pure rose essential oil so the aroma comes entirely from the rose, never from synthetic parfum.

The result is a clean, cooling mist that does three jobs in one bottle — a daily toner, a midday refresher, and the use our customers love most: an instant, waterless freshen-up for life on the move.

◆ The Mist-&-Wipe Ritual — our best-selling idea. Out in the heat, on a dusty road, mid-journey — and nowhere to wash your face? Mist Gulabjal over your face, gently rub it in 4–5 times, then wipe away with a dry cotton cloth. It lifts sweat, dust and stickiness and leaves an immediate, clean freshness behind — no water, no basin, no mirror needed. This one habit is why customers keep coming back to repurchase.

Freshness While Driving & On the Go

Indian roads in summer are hot, dusty and long. Whether you are behind the wheel on a highway, stuck at a traffic signal, or stepping out of the car for a meeting, your face takes the heat first. Keep the 100ml mist in the car door pocket or glovebox. A quick spritz, a gentle rub, a wipe with a dry cloth — and you feel clean and presentable again in seconds, without leaving your seat.

It is just as useful the moment you pull off a helmet after a two-wheeler ride, or climb out of a crowded bus or auto. The fine mist pump works in any orientation, so it sprays evenly even when the bottle is tilted in a bag. Drivers, daily commuters, field staff and delivery riders treat it as a pocket reset button for the face.

When You Can't Wash Your Face — Just Mist & Wipe

There are dozens of moments in a day when a basin simply isn't around. Gulabjal is made for exactly those moments. Mist, rub 4–5 times, wipe with dry cotton:

  • While driving or on a road trip — at a signal, a toll, or a rest stop.
  • Right after taking off a helmet on a two-wheeler.
  • On a flight, train or bus, or waiting at an airport or station.
  • Stuck in traffic or commuting in peak summer.
  • At your office desk, when AC dryness and screen hours leave skin dull.
  • After the gym, a walk or sport — before you can get to a shower.
  • At a wedding or function, between long sittings, even over makeup.
  • During outdoor work, site visits or field duty in dust and sun.
  • On a yatra, pilgrimage or festival day in a crowd.
  • While camping, trekking or travelling where running water is scarce.
  • After cooking by a hot stove or tandoor.
  • During night shifts, study marathons or long exams when you need to feel awake.

Extra Everyday Benefits

  • Instant cooling relief: a cool spritz takes the edge off summer heat on the face and neck.
  • Lifts the sweaty, sticky feel: mist-and-wipe clears surface sweat, dust and grime without water.
  • Soothes skin irritation: the on-pack indication — gentle comfort for heat-reactive, flushed skin.
  • Enhances mood: the on-pack indication — the natural rose aroma lifts the senses in a moment.
  • Feel presentable in seconds: a light, clean rose scent before a meeting, a guest, or a photo.
  • Hygienic, no-touch dose: the mist pump means hands never touch the liquid — cleaner for daily use.
  • Pocket-portable: 100ml fits a handbag, backpack, glovebox or travel kit.

More Ways to Use It

  • Face toner after cleansing: 2–3 pumps, let it absorb, follow with moisturiser.
  • Midday refresh: 1–2 pumps over bare skin or makeup to cool and revive.
  • Post-sun cooling spray: mist over face and neck after sun; keep refrigerated in summer.
  • Eye compress: spray onto a cotton pad and rest over closed eyes for 5 minutes.
  • Clay-pack liquid: mix our Multani Mitti or Chandan Powder with Gulabjal instead of water — the classical Lepa ritual.
  • Hair & linen freshener: a light mist on dry hair, a pillow or a dupatta.

Traditional Ayurvedic Importance

In classical Ayurveda, rose preparations are described as Sheeta Virya — cooling in potency — and are traditionally valued to pacify Pitta dosha, the force behind heat, reactivity and a flushed, irritated complexion. Gulab Arq appears in Ayurvedic and Unani literature as a skin-soothing and mood-calming aromatic water.

As traditionally described in Ayurvedic Lepa (topical application) literature, rose water serves as the aromatic Drava — the liquid vehicle — applied after cleansing or used to bind Mrittika (earth/clay) face preparations into a smooth paste.

Rose, in Research

The rose is among the most-studied aromatic plants in botanical literature. Most published pharmacological research focuses on Rosa damascena (the Damask rose), the genus's most-researched species, which shares the aromatic and antioxidant character of the wider rose family.

A comprehensive peer-reviewed review of the rose documented its antioxidant and aromatic properties across traditional and modern use. — (Boskabady et al., 2011, Iranian Journal of Basic Medical Sciences, 14(4):295–307; PMC3586833)

A later review revisited Damask rose as a classical aromatic herb with broad cosmetic and wellness applications. — (Mahboubi, 2016, Journal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine, 6(1):10–16)

These findings relate to the rose genus in research settings and are shared for educational context. This product is a cosmetic preparation — it is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any condition. Results may vary from person to person.

How to Use

Travel / driving / on-the-go refresh (signature use): mist 2–3 pumps over the face, gently rub in 4–5 times, then wipe away with a dry cotton cloth. Instant freshness with no water needed.

As a face toner after cleansing: hold the pump 20–25 cm from the face and spray 2–3 pumps evenly. Let it absorb — do not wipe off. Follow with a moisturiser if desired. Morning and evening.

As a midday mist: 1–2 pumps any time, over bare skin or makeup, to cool and revive.

As a post-sun cooling spray: spray generously over face and neck after sun exposure. Keep the bottle refrigerated in summer for an extra cooling effect.

As a clay-pack mixing liquid: use in place of plain water to mix face-pack powders — the classical Mrittika + Gulab Arq combination.

As an eye compress: spray onto a clean cotton pad and rest over closed eyes for 5 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this to freshen my face while driving or travelling, without water?

Yes — this is the use our customers love most. When you are driving, commuting or out in heat and dust and cannot wash your face, mist Gulabjal over the skin, gently rub 4–5 times, and wipe away with a dry cotton cloth. It lifts sweat and grime and leaves an immediate clean freshness, no basin required. The 100ml mist-pump size is made to live in a car glovebox, handbag or backpack.

What can I use to freshen up when I can't wash my face?

A steam-distilled rose water mist like this one is ideal. It works on a long drive, after a helmet ride, on a flight or train, at an office desk, after the gym, at a wedding, on a yatra, while trekking, or any time a basin isn't around. Mist, rub gently, wipe with dry cotton — clean, cool and presentable in seconds.

Is this AYUSH or GMP certified? Who makes it?

This rose water is manufactured in India for Riddhish Herbals (Jamkhambhalia, Dist. Devbhumi Dwarka, Gujarat) and packed by Nestreez Healthcare, Kathwada, Ahmedabad, under URN No. GJ010141753 — printed on every pack for full traceability. Riddhish Herbals has been a trusted Ayurvedic store in Gujarat since 2015 and provides a bill with every purchase. Can I use this without consulting a doctor?

Yes — this is a cosmetic skin preparation suitable for general adult use. A patch test before first use is always recommended. If you are pregnant, lactating, or managing an active skin condition, consult a physician before use.

How is this different from ordinary market rose water?

Much of the rose water sold in India is synthetic rose fragrance dissolved in purified water — it smells of rose but carries no plant compounds. This is a genuine steam-distilled Rosa centifolia hydrosol enriched with pure rose essential oil, with no preservative and no artificial fragrance. The hydrosol carries water-soluble compounds from the flower; the essential oil gives the deeper, authentic fragrance.

What is the difference between Rosa centifolia and Rosa damascena?

Rosa damascena (Damask rose) is the species behind most rose otto and is the more heavily researched of the two. Rosa centifolia (the Hundred-Petal or Cabbage rose) — the species in this product — has a softer, powdery aroma and is traditionally favoured for gentle, sensitive-skin use. Both are true roses and both yield genuine steam-distilled hydrosol.

What are the alternate names for this product?

Also known as: Gulabjal · Gulab Jal · Gulab Arq · Arq Gulab · Gulab Pani · Gulab Arak · Rose Hydrosol · Rose Floral Water · Rosa centifolia Flower Water. The rose essential oil fraction is also called Gulab Tel or Rose Otto.

Can I use it over makeup?

Yes. The fine mist pump makes it ideal as a midday refreshing and light setting mist over makeup — the same role rose water mists play in professional makeup kits.

Why is a mist pump better than a pour-cap bottle?

A mist pump gives fine, even coverage with no cotton pad, keeps your hands off the liquid (preventing contamination), works in any orientation for travel, and delivers a controlled dose per spray. For daily and on-the-go use it is more hygienic and far more convenient than a pour bottle.

Is it available at the Riddhish Herbals store in Gujarat?
