About Sitopaladi Churna
Sitopaladi Churna is one of the most trusted classical formulations in the whole Ayurvedic respiratory tradition. Its name comes from Sitopala — sugar candy — the sweet base that makes the powder gentle and palatable, even for children under guidance. This is a five-herb formula, prepared to the classical ratio, by Riddhish Herbals.
Traditional Ayurvedic Importance
The formula is documented in the Bhaishajya Ratnavali (Rajayakshma Chikitsa, verses 14/27–28), with its original basis in the Charaka Samhita's Rajayakshma chapter. Classical texts describe Sitopaladi Churna as a kapha–vata balancing churna, traditionally valued for kasa (cough), shwasa (breathing comfort), jwara (fever) and arochaka (loss of taste). The genius of the recipe is its balance: the sweet, cooling Sitopala and Vanshlochan are offset by the warming, pungent Pippali and Twak, so the formula soothes without being harsh.

Research and Scientific References
Sitopaladi Churna has been the subject of published research as a complete formulation. An in-vitro study examined its antioxidant activity using standard radical-scavenging models (Makhija et al., 2011 — peer-reviewed in-vitro study). A 2025 critical review summarised the classical basis and the pharmacological literature on the formulation (Journal of Neonatal Surgery, 2025). The pungent component Pippali contains piperine, reviewed for its physiological effects and bio-enhancer role (Srinivasan, 2007 — Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition, PMID 17987447). Results observed in study conditions. Individual results may vary. Consult your Ayurvedic physician before use.
How to Use
