About Baval Shigru Plus Powder

Baval Shigru Plus is an Ayurvedic powder built around two herbs and one classical herbo-mineral Rasayana. It combines Baval Beej — the seed of Acacia nilotica (Babul) — with Shigru (Saragavo, the drumstick tree, Moringa oleifera) and purified (Shuddh) Shilajit (Asphaltum panjabinum). In classical Ayurveda these are associated with Asthi–Sandhi (bone and joint) wellness, Vata balance and Rasayana (rejuvenative) support, and the powder is traditionally taken with warm water or milk.

Riddhish Herbals offers it as a clean blend with no synthetic additives, manufactured in a GMP-certified facility.

Traditional Ayurvedic Importance

In Ayurveda, Baval (Babbula, Acacia nilotica) is an astringent Kashaya herb classically associated with Asthi Dhatu (bone tissue) and Sandhaniya (tissue-uniting) qualities. Shigru (Shobhanjana / Saragavo, Moringa oleifera) is described in classical texts such as the Bhavaprakasha Nighantu as a warming (ushna), Vata- and Kapha-pacifying herb, traditionally used in the context of Shotha (the classical concept of swelling) and Vata-related discomfort.

Shilajit (Shilajatu, Asphaltum panjabinum) is one of the most revered Rasayana substances in classical Ayurveda — a mineral-rich exudate traditionally valued as a rejuvenator and as an anupan-carrier that supports the qualities of the herbs it accompanies. Together, the three ingredients reflect a traditional Asthi–Sandhi and Rasayana approach to bone, joint and Vata wellness, taken under guidance.

Research and Scientific References

The ingredients have been the subject of published research. A peer-reviewed review of Babul (Acacia nilotica) documented its tannins and polyphenols and reviewed its traditionally recognised antioxidant constituents (Hafez et al., 2024 — Nutrients; PMID: 39770900). A review of Moringa (Moringa oleifera) documented its antioxidant and tissue-protective constituents (Stohs & Hartman, 2015 — Phytotherapy Research; PMID: 25808883). A review of Shilajit described fulvic acid as its key antioxidant constituent within a traditionally recognised Rasayana context (Carrasco-Gallardo et al., 2012 — International Journal of Alzheimer's Disease; PMID: 22482077).
