About Gratia Rooh Al Oudh Handmade Glycerin Soap
Oud is the world's most expensive natural fragrance material, prized by royal courts across the Middle East and India for centuries. Rooh Al Oudh — Arabic for “Soul of Oud” — earns its name within seconds of lathering: a deep, woody, resinous fragrance fills the room and holds for one to two hours after your bath, then stays on your skin.
This bar carries the highest price in the Gratia range because genuine Oud fragrance costs what genuine Oud costs — it is priced as the honest cost of doing this correctly, not as a luxury flourish.
The Legacy Behind This Bar
Govindam Flavours was built by Late Shri Akhilesh Kumar Mishra Ji, who spent his life in the most serious fragrance research India has produced and could identify a fragrance's full composition within minutes. The Oud here is prepared by the traditional Deg-Bhapka method — copper vessels, clay-sealed lids, slow-controlled heat, the vapour drawn through a Chonga pipe into a Bhapka receiver and absorbed into a natural oil base.
What Makes Gratia Different
Premium fragrance soaps typically weaken by halfway and vanish by the end. Rooh Al Oudh breaks this: the Oud intensity is identical from the first lather to the last milligram, and the rich, creamy foam performs the same on day one and on the final day.
For Every Skin Type
No post-bath dryness, tightness or residue — the glycerin, Olive Oil and Almond Oil leave skin soft after every use. Oily skin finds it rinses completely clean; the fragrance that remains on skin is the attar, not residue.
The Kannauj Difference
Kannauj Perfume holds a Geographical Indication. In the Deg-Bhapka method, botanical material sits in a copper Deg sealed with clay, is slow-heated, and the vapour is drawn through a Chonga pipe into a Bhapka where it condenses into natural oil — giving Oud its full aromatic complexity rather than a synthetic shortcut.
Research on the Constituents
◆ Glycerol is a long-established humectant in topical preparations, with published review evidence describing its role in stratum-corneum hydration, barrier function and skin mechanical properties — the property behind a glycerin bathing bar (Fluhr et al., 2008 — British Journal of Dermatology; PMID 18510666).

How to Use
Wet skin with water and work the bar into a lather between your palms. Apply to face and body, massage gently, then rinse thoroughly. The fragrance settles on skin after rinsing, so no separate body spray is needed. Suitable for daily use on face and body.
Who Can Use It
Suitable for all skin types — dry, oily, combination and sensitive — for daily face and body use. For external use only. If you are pregnant, lactating or have a known skin condition or fragrance allergy, patch-test first or consult a physician before regular use.
Safety Information
For external use only. Avoid direct contact with the eyes — rinse thoroughly with water if contact occurs. Discontinue use if irritation or redness develops. Keep out of reach of children. Store on a well-draining soap dish between uses.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight on a well-draining soap dish. Glycerin bars are naturally softer than commercial bars and will dissolve if left in standing water — the softness is a sign of genuine glycerin content, not a defect. Allow the bar to dry fully between uses to extend its life.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Gratia Rooh Al Oudh Glycerin Soap?
A 125 g luxury handmade vegetarian bathing bar by Govindam Flavours, crafted with genuine Agarwood (Oud) attar via the traditional Kannauj Deg-Bhapka method. Rooh Al Oudh means Soul of Oud in Arabic; it is the most premium bar in the Gratia range.
Why is this the most premium bar in the Gratia range?
Oud (Agarwood) is the world's most expensive natural fragrance material, and genuine Oud attar prepared by the Deg-Bhapka method costs far more than synthetic Oud compounds. The price reflects the honest cost of using real Oud fragrance.
What does Oud smell like?
Oud is a deep, woody, resinous fragrance from the heartwood of Aquilaria trees — warm, complex and unmistakably luxurious, simultaneously earthy and royal, prized for centuries across the Middle East, India and East Asia.
Does the Oud fragrance last until the last milligram of the bar?
Yes. The Oud concentration is consistent from the first lather to the very last use, unlike most luxury soap brands where fragrance depletes rapidly.
Can I use this soap instead of a body perfume?
Yes. The Oud attar settles on skin after bathing and remains through the day; many customers find they do not need a separate body perfume after using this bar.
What are the alternate names for this product?
Also known as Oud soap, Oudh soap, Agarwood soap, Rooh Al Oudh soap and premium oud bathing bar. Botanical name: Aquilaria malaccensis.
Is this available at Riddhish Herbals?
Yes. Riddhish Herbals — Gujarat's trusted Ayurvedic store since 2015 — stocks genuine Gratia soaps with bill provided and pan-India delivery.
Is Rooh Al Oudh soap suitable for gifting?
Yes. As the most premium bar in the range, it makes an exceptional personal, corporate or festive gift for anyone who appreciates India's finest fragrance traditions.
Has Agarwood / Oud been studied scientifically?
Agarwood (Aquilaria malaccensis) has been researched for its aromatic compounds and traditional uses. Results observed in study conditions; individual results may vary. Consult your physician before use if you have any skin condition.
