About Acifite Tablet and Its Traditional Ayurvedic Importance
Ayurveda describes acidity as Amlapitta: Pitta dosha becoming excessively sour (Amla) and fluid (Drava) in the stomach, usually alongside weakened or irregular digestion (Agni). Classical care for Amlapitta leans on sweet, cooling and gently bitter dravyas, on cooling mineral preparations, and on keeping the bowel regular, together with careful meal timing and diet.
Acifite Tablet is a proprietary formulation built on that approach rather than a single classical recipe. It brings together two classical compound preparations, one herb and two classical bhasmas, processed with Bhavana (trituration) of Guduchi and Shatavari:
- Avipattikar Churna (140 mg): a well-known classical churna, traditionally used in Ayurveda for Amlapitta and for regular bowel movement.
- Yashtimadhu (100 mg): licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra), described in the Bhavaprakasha Nighantu as Madhura (sweet) in taste, Sheeta (cooling) in potency and Pitta-balancing, and long valued for comfort of the stomach.
- Mukta Shukti Bhasma (90 mg): a classical bhasma prepared from pearl-oyster shell, regarded in Ayurveda as cooling and traditionally used in Amlapitta.
- Praval Bhasma (80 mg): a classical bhasma prepared from coral, described as Sheeta and Pitta-balancing.
- Kamdudha Ras (50 mg): a classical rasa preparation traditionally used in Ayurveda for Pitta-related digestive discomfort.
- Bhavana of Guduchi and Shatavari: Guduchi, called Amrita in the classical Nighantus, and Shatavari, a Madhura, Sheeta herb, are used as trituration herbs, a classical way of adding their qualities to the whole tablet.
Because it contains classical mineral preparations, Acifite Tablet is a physician’s medicine rather than a casual daily supplement. An Ayurvedic doctor or Vaidya decides whether it suits you, how long to take it, and which diet and routine should go with it.
