Ashwagandha Pak (Nagarjun, Aaryabhishak reference) is a classical herbo-mineral Ayurvedic Rasayana — a sugar- and milk-based thick formulation led by Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) and combined with classical aromatic herbs, processed bhasmas (Abhrak, Nag, Bang, Loh) and Ras Sindur. It is a traditional Vajikarana and Balya (strength-and-vitality) preparation, to be used under the guidance of a qualified Ayurvedic physician.

Physician-supervised medicine. This is a herbo-mineral (Rasaushadhi-class) Ayurvedic formulation containing classically processed metallic bhasmas and Ras Sindur, and the Schedule E1 drug Bhallataka. It must be taken strictly under the supervision of a qualified Ayurvedic physician. Not for self-medication.

In the Ayurvedic tradition a Pak (or avaleha) is a thick, sweet, nourishing confection in which herbs and minerals are carried in a base of sugar and cow's milk (Godugdha) for palatability and absorption. This 200 g pack is manufactured by Nagarjun Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. (Mfg. Lic. No. GA/331) and retailed by Riddhish Herbals with genuine sourcing and a bill on every order, since 2015. Herbo-mineral medicines are a legitimate, classical and effective part of Indian Ayurveda — and we sell them with full, honest disclosure of exactly what is inside.

About Ashwagandha Pak

Ashwagandha Pak belongs to the classical strength-and-vitality (Balya, Vrishya, Vajikarana) Rasayana tradition. Its lead herb, Ashwagandha, is the foremost adaptogen of Ayurveda; around it the formula layers warming aromatics (cinnamon, cardamom, clove, nutmeg, saffron), nervine and cooling herbs (Jatamansi, the two Chandanas), and a small, classically processed mineral fraction (bhasmas and Ras Sindur) that defines it as a herbo-mineral preparation rather than a plain herbal jam. The base is a sugar-and-milk thick formula.

Traditional Ayurvedic Importance

Ashwagandha is described in the Bhavaprakasha Nighantu and Charaka Samhita as a Balya (strengthening), Rasayana (rejuvenative) and Vajikarana (vitality-supporting) herb. Herbo-mineral Rasayana confections of this kind follow the Rasashastra tradition, in which purified minerals and metals are converted to fine, classically processed bhasmas intended to act as yogavahi (carriers that enhance the action of the herbs). This particular formula follows the Gujarati classical reference Aaryabhishak. Such preparations are classically reserved for use under the direct guidance of a Vaidya.

About the herbo-mineral content — in full honesty. This Pak contains classically processed metallic bhasmas (Abhrak/mica, Nag/lead, Bang/tin, Loh/iron) and Ras Sindur (a processed mercury–sulphur compound), each at roughly 0.18%. In Ayurveda these are prepared by repeated purification (shodhana) and incineration (marana) into fine, classically certified bhasmas; they are legal, standard Indian Ayurvedic ingredients. It also contains Bhallataka (Semecarpus anacardium), a Schedule E1 drug that must be used under medical supervision. Because of the mineral fraction and the Schedule E1 herb, this medicine is intended only for use under a qualified Ayurvedic physician.

Research & References

The lead herb, Ashwagandha, is among the most studied Ayurvedic Rasayana herbs. In a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, a concentrated Withania somnifera root extract was associated with reductions in self-assessed stress scores and serum cortisol under study conditions. (Chandrasekhar, Kapoor & Anishetty, 2012 — Indian Journal of Psychological Medicine; PMID 23439798) The full multi-ingredient herbo-mineral formula itself is a classical preparation described in the Aaryabhishak; its traditional use rests on classical Rasashastra literature rather than on a trial of the finished product.

Findings relate to single-herb extracts under study conditions and do not constitute claims for this finished medicine. Individual results may vary. Use under your Ayurvedic physician's guidance.

How to Use & Anupan

10 to 20 g with milk, or strictly as directed by your Ayurvedic physician. As a herbo-mineral Rasayana, dose and duration should be set individually by your Vaidya.

Who Can Use It

Intended for adults using it under qualified Ayurvedic supervision. Not for children. Not for pregnant or lactating women. Anyone taking medication or managing a health condition must consult their physician first. Because it contains processed metallic bhasmas and a Schedule E1 herb, self-medication is not appropriate.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Ashwagandha Pak?

It is a classical herbo-mineral Ayurvedic Rasayana — a sugar- and milk-based Pak led by Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) and combined with classical aromatic herbs, processed bhasmas (Abhrak, Nag, Bang, Loh) and Ras Sindur — following the Aaryabhishak reference. It is a strength-and-vitality (Balya, Vajikarana) preparation.

Does it really contain metals and Ras Sindur?

Yes — and we state it openly. It contains small, classically processed quantities (~0.18% each) of mica (Abhrak), lead (Nag), tin (Bang) and iron (Loh) bhasmas, plus Ras Sindur. These are standard, legal classical Ayurvedic ingredients prepared by traditional purification and incineration. They are exactly why this medicine must be taken under a physician's supervision.

What is Bhallataka and why is it flagged?

Bhallataka (Semecarpus anacardium) is a classical Rasayana herb that is listed under Schedule E1 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules. It is safe in classically processed, correctly dosed form, but must be used under medical supervision — which is why this product is physician-gated.

Is this product certified / who makes it?

It is manufactured by Nagarjun Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. (Mfg. Lic. No. GA/331) and retailed by Riddhish Herbals with a genuine bill on every order.

How is it taken?

10 to 20 g with milk, or as directed by your Ayurvedic physician. Dose and duration are best set individually by your Vaidya.

Can I take it on my own?

No. Because it is a herbo-mineral medicine containing bhasmas, Ras Sindur and a Schedule E1 herb, it should be taken only under the guidance of a qualified Ayurvedic physician.
