About SSD Tail and Its Traditional Ayurvedic Importance
The name SSD stands for Sunthi Siddha Divel, castor oil (Divel, the Gujarati name for Erand Tail) prepared with dry ginger (Sunthi). It is a proprietary formulation of Panchamrut Herbals that brings together two of the most familiar dravyas in Ayurveda; the full composition is set out below.

- Shunthi (Sunth, dry ginger): Katu (pungent) in taste with a Madhura vipaka, Ushna in potency, Laghu and Snigdha, described as Deepana (kindling digestive fire) and balancing to Vata and Kapha. Its classical names Vishvabheshaja and Mahaushadha, the universal medicine, show how widely it is used.
