Ashwagandha Churna is a pure single-herb Ayurvedic powder of Withania somnifera root (100%) — known in Sanskrit as Ashwagandha, “the smell of a horse,” for its earthy aroma and its classical reputation for imparting horse-like strength. It is among the most celebrated Rasayana (rejuvenative) and Balya (strengthening) herbs of Ayurveda, and the tradition's foremost adaptogen.
Riddhish Herbals Ashwagandha Churna is prepared from 100% Withania somnifera root — exactly as declared on the pack — with no leaf, no fillers, no colours and no preservatives. It is finely milled into a smooth, earthy churna that blends readily into the classical anupans of warm milk or water. Net weight 100 g, manufactured in a GMP-, ISO 9001:2015- and HACCP-certified facility under Ayurvedic manufacturing licence GA/1762. Riddhish Herbals has supplied genuine Ayurvedic products across India since 2015, with a bill on every order.
About Ashwagandha Churna
Ashwagandha is the single best-known herb of the Ayurvedic Rasayana tradition — valued for over two thousand years as a daily tonic for strength, steadiness and restful nights. This pack is the pure root powder: the part the classical texts specify and the part printed on the label (Withania somnifera, Root, 100%). A point of honesty worth making — the root, not the cheaper leaf, is the classical Rasayana material, and that is exactly what you are buying here.
Traditional Ayurvedic Importance
The Bhavaprakasha Nighantu (Guduchyadi Varga) lists Ashwagandha — also called Varahakarni and Balada — among the Balya (strengthening) and Rasayana (rejuvenative) dravyas, and describes it as Vajikarana (vitality-supporting) and Vatahara. The Charaka Samhita places Ashwagandha within its Balya and Brimhaniya (nourishing) tradition — the herbs taken to build bala (strength) and nourish the dhatus (tissues). It also appears in the Gujarati Ayurvedic compendium Aaryabhishak, a reference printed on Riddhish Herbals own-brand labels.
In classical pharmacology Ashwagandha carries Tikta-Kashaya (bitter-astringent) with Madhura (sweet) rasa, Laghu-Snigdha guna, Ushna (heating) virya and Madhura vipaka. This warming, nourishing, Vata-Kapha-pacifying profile is why it is classically taken as a steady daily Rasayana rather than for quick effect, and why warm milk is its most traditional anupan. The herb anchors several classical preparations, including Ashwagandharishta, Ashwagandha Ghrita and Ashwagandhadi Churna.

Research & Scientific References
Ashwagandha is among the most extensively documented Ayurvedic Rasayana herbs in published clinical literature. In a prospective, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, researchers gave a concentrated Withania somnifera root extract to adults under stress and observed reductions in self-assessed stress scores and in serum cortisol under study conditions. (Chandrasekhar, Kapoor & Anishetty, 2012 — Indian Journal of Psychological Medicine, 34(3):255–262; PMID 23439798) A broader survey of the herb's phytochemistry and pharmacology is collated in a peer-reviewed narrative review. (Mikulska et al., 2023 — Pharmaceutics; PMID 37111543) You can browse the wider study literature via Withania somnifera — Google Scholar.
Findings are observed under study conditions, generally using standardised extracts rather than plain powder, and do not constitute medical claims. Individual results may vary. Consult your Ayurvedic physician before use.
How to Use & Anupan
As directed by your Ayurvedic physician. General classical guidance: 3–5 g (about ½ to 1 teaspoon) once or twice daily. Traditional anupan: warm milk (the classical and most widely recommended carrier), often with a little ghee or jaggery; warm water is also used. It is traditionally taken after food or before bed, and the Rasayana approach is steady daily use over weeks and months alongside a balanced diet.
Tip: to avoid lumps, first make a smooth paste with a little warm water or milk, then stir into the rest of the warm milk.
Who Can Use It
Generally suited to adults — men and women — seeking a traditional daily Rasayana for strength, steadiness and restful nights. Not recommended during pregnancy. If you are lactating, taking any medication (especially sedative, thyroid or blood-pressure medicines), or managing any health condition, consult a qualified Ayurvedic physician before use. Keep out of reach of children.
Safety Information
Use under the guidance of a qualified Ayurvedic physician, especially if you are pregnant, lactating, taking any medication, or managing any medical condition. Ashwagandha is Ushna (heating) in nature, so those of markedly Pitta constitution should use it mindfully. Discontinue and consult your physician if any discomfort occurs. Keep out of reach of children. Results may vary from person to person. This product is a traditional Ayurvedic preparation and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or replace professional medical care.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as printed on the label. Keep the pack tightly closed after every use to preserve freshness.

What is Ashwagandha Churna?
