About Arjuna and Its Traditional Ayurvedic Importance
Arjun, or Arjuna, is the tall riverside tree Terminalia arjuna, a familiar sight along streams and river banks across India; in Gujarat it is also known as Sadad. It is the thick, reddish bark, Arjun Chaal, that Ayurveda uses. In Sanskrit the tree is Arjuna, Kakubha and Partha, names that recur through the classical texts.
